Outlines the core risks and harms posed by AI systems, the characteristics of trustworthy AI systems, and the principles essential to responsible and ethical AI.
Examines the details of building AI governance, including collaborating with major AI stakeholders, defining roles and responsibilities, and identifying and managing risks.
Describes relevant global laws and discusses key points related to terminology, risk levels, requirements, governance and enforcement as laid out in AI-specific regulation.
Surveys the existing laws that govern AI, provides awareness of liability reform, and outlines how various legal frameworks, including data privacy and intellectual property laws, intersect with AI applications.

The lead educator for this course is a Fellow of Information Privacy - IAPP's highest professional designation - with over twenty years in privacy, security and compliance. He sits on the ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 standards committees, spent years as a BSi assessor deciding whether organisations earn accredited certification, and has built, audited and taught privacy programmes for organisations including Apple, TripAdvisor, Red Bull, Huawei and Kellogg's.

The AIGP is the world's first certification in AI governance, developed by the IAPP - the body behind the most recognised privacy certifications globally. Upon completion of the AI Governance course, students are encouraged to sit for the IAPP Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional exam within a maximum timeframe of 12 months.
The AIGP exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions, with an allotted time of 2.75 hours plus a scheduled 15-minute break. Scores are reported on a scale of 100 to 500, with 300 and above being a pass. Should a candidate fail their first exam attempt, a re-take can be booked after 30 days at a reduced retake fee set by the IAPP. The exam is delivered on the international Pearson VUE Testing System, either at a test centre or remotely, and the result is made available straight after the exam session. Upon successful completion, students receive a digital copy of the certificate by email within 3 weeks. |
