Wise advice from our star alumni Kurt Azzopardi, DevOps Engineer at Gaming Innovation Group. Here’s his story.

Why did you decide to enrol for an ICE Malta study programme?

During my career, I mostly worked on Linux technologies however there came a point where I felt I had to brush up my knowledge on Windows infrastructure to make sure I remain in-demand. Friends and colleagues had highly recommended ICE Malta so I quickly found myself enrolling for my first course – MCSA Windows Server 2016.

Which part of the study experience did you like most and why?

The content is delivered in an engaging manner and students are mentored by industry practitioners who believe in the importance of practical learning. Plus ICE Malta’s educators offer industry insight and real-world scenarios which makes lessons super interesting – you automatically feel that what you are learning is crucial.

What’s working in the iGaming industry like?

It’s one of the friendliest, driven and dynamic industries. However, don’t be mistaken – it’s highly competitive and while it’s super fun and presents a number of perks, career driven individuals must keep focused, work on becoming even more agile and constantly invest in learning.

What are your goals for 2019?

This year i’m determined to continue to gain more knowledge and experience in different areas of technology. I’m also planning to push my career forward and focus on containerization, cloud and automation technologies.

Kurt is clearly ‘a man with a plan’ and continues to remind us all that if we want to remain relevant and one step ahead, learning must also factor in our lifestyle.
