14 isn’t too young to start thinking like a creative. Daniel’s story proves it.

Do you remember a childhood experience that silently paved the way for your career? At the age of 14, Daniel Schembri could not have imagined that self-recorded tech reviews produced in his bedroom, would be the launch pad for his future. No plan. No equipment. No experience… other than his camera.

To Daniel, this natural pass time was nothing more than a hobby to find joy through learning, creating and sharing during the COVID-19 period. What Daniel didn’t realise at the time was that these moments would soon become his testing ground for a transformation that would evolve far beyond those four walls.

“I wasn’t following a strategy or using any theoretically based techniques. I was just creating something I loved through trial and error.”

With no syllabus, and an endless list of short online tutorials, Daniel’s testing pad slowly evolved into a mini-studio, where he tested his creative abilities from scripting videos, editing them, managing his YouTube uploads, and experimenting with platforms that other marketers were speaking about. Without realising it, he was already planting the seed that would blossom into the world of strategy with time and skills.

“I was already doing a lot of this, but I wanted structure and processes. I wanted to understand the strategy behind what I’m doing.”

Daniel didn’t need to leave his bedroom to take the next step. With a simple click, he stepped out further than many had the courage to go, and he entered the online-live campus at ICE Campus leaning into his natural love for learning, it wasn’t long before skills and tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and Digital Marketing became part of his everyday language as he navigated the foundations of the Teens Design Discovery course. With every building block from the three-hour sessions, what had once been instinctive was now validated… this path was real, and it was worth taking seriously.

“I started my first course at the age of 14, and that says a lot about what makes ICE different. It didn’t matter how young I was. The content was real, the strategy was relevant, and it pushed me to take my ideas to the next level.”

Every lecture deepened Daniel’s understanding of how to approach his personal brand, not only through theoretical frameworks, but elevating the way he pitched ideas, built and measured his campaign performance, and diversified his online portfolio. Today, what began as a step into the unknown at a very young age has transformed into an ambitious journey for Daniel, a Brand Growth Associate, where he helps brands grow through creative-strategic video marketing.

Outside of his professional role, creativity continues to shape Daniel’s identity in more ways than one as a pianist and composer with multiple original albums and singles, including The Beginning, Majestic Melody, and A New Planet, which have collectively reached over 190K+ streams across music platforms.

“Whether I’m building a marketing campaign or composing music, it all comes back to the same thing… understanding how you make people think and feel. Digital marketing gave me the tools to connect with audiences in a thoughtful and emotional way.”
From a teenagers bedroom, to corporate boardrooms, Daniel’s path proves that it’s never too early, or too late to choose your path.
