With a single course, Karl turned his freelance passion into a full-time career.

Starting over and changing careers is actually possible. Take Karl, an MCAST graduate who was working in a completely different industry before he decided to switch to design. He’s now built a career that gave him back his sense of motivation.

Before turning to ICE Malta, Karl used to do some freelance graphic design work after his day job, and that’s how he figured out that design was his real calling. But this self-taught designer soon realised that he needed the right training to help him change industries and build up his career. The solution? Karl opted for the 10-week Online Live Graphic Designer Associate Course, which enabled him to get industry-ready skills on a part-time, work-friendly schedule.

Studying online and re-watching lessons on playback made things easier on Karl, who particularly appreciated the practical insights provided by an educator with industry experience. What also stood out for him was the continuous support his tutor was able to provide, even after lesson hours. His passion for his new job and his positive experience at ICE Malta led him to seek parallel skills in UX Design and Digital Marketing as well.
