Elisa Farrugia enrolled in both the Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing and the MySuccess Graphic Designer Associate. She completed her studies with a positive energetic attitude, a portfolio bursting with beautiful campaigns, worldwide recognised certifications and the digital marketing skills which gave her the freedom to design a career by her rules. This is her story.

What did you love most about your ICE Malta Study Experience?

First of all our educator had a natural flair for teaching a non-textbook method and made our study experience great fun. Another thing that stood out is ICE Malta’s focus on delivering learning in a hands-on approach – this is extremely effective. Thirdly, ICE Malta classes focus on presenting real-world case scenarios which allowed me to truly understand the power of digital in various industry settings. Finally, the fact that networking is encouraged gave me the opportunity to meet other like-minded digital designers and be part of a community of very talented and driven individuals.

Why is it important for digital marketers to have design skills?

Since every brand is going digital, it has become essential for marketers to gain knowledge and develop basic skills using Adobe tools. Having graphic design knowledge and skills gives me the opportunity to pitch ideas more confidently and effectively. Knowing the tips and tricks of designing really comes in handy to create campaigns in the absence of a designer while the fact that I do not have to rely on anyone else to implement my digital campaign is extremely empowering.

What are your plans for the future?

Embrace new challenges, keep networking, aim high to exceed expectations and you will find yourself leaving a sparkle everywhere you go.

What is your message to students?

Learning can be fun, ICE Malta’s Study Experience proves that it really can. Set career goals, design a plan and keep yourself open to opportunities. Networking is key – the more people you meet the more inspired you’ll get. It takes a lot of hard work to craft a learning plan and juggle work and study time, however, the results are extremely rewarding.

To succeed in the 21st-century business world, career high-fliers must be versatile, dynamic, innovative and gain as many different skills as possible. We are certain that Elisa’s career will continue to flourish and we’ll be right by her side celebrating each and every success.
