AI for All (AI għal Kulħadd) is Malta’s national AI literacy programme: a free online course for citizens and residents, run by MDIA and developed by the University of Malta. Complete the three core modules and the final exam and you receive a certificate and a free 12-month subscription to either ChatGPT Plus or Microsoft 365 Personal with Copilot.
We teach AI at ICE Campus every week, so we read the details closely. This guide explains how AI for All works, what to check before you claim the free subscription, and how to turn a free introduction into practical AI skills you can use at work.

What you learn on AI for All
The course starts with how AI actually works and why it sometimes gets things wrong, then shows you how to use it safely and critically in everyday life, learning and work. Three core modules are mandatory:
- Module 1: AI Fundamentals and Critical Use
- Module 2: AI for Everyday Life
- Module 3: AI for Learning
After the core modules and the final exam you can choose a pathway. MDIA lists pathways for professionals, job seekers, entrepreneurs, accessibility and independent living, and education (teachers, parents and school communities). More pathways are being released over time, and each pathway you complete earns its own certificate.
The free ChatGPT or Copilot subscription: what to check first
Once you have completed the three core modules and the exam, you choose one AI platform and receive a subscription code by email. A few things are worth knowing before you choose:
- You can pick only one platform, either ChatGPT Plus or Microsoft 365 Personal with Copilot. Once the code has been issued, your choice cannot be changed.
- The subscription lasts 12 months from the day you redeem the code. After that your account drops to the free tier unless you decide to pay, and it does not renew automatically as a paid plan.
- ChatGPT: you cannot redeem the code while you have an active paid ChatGPT subscription.
- Microsoft 365 Personal with Copilot: you can redeem the code on top of an existing subscription, and the 12 months are added to the end of your current period.
- Codes must be redeemed within 12 months of the platform launch on 18 May 2026, so do not leave it too late.
- Each person can claim one code. It is personal and cannot be sold, gifted or shared.

What to learn after AI for All
AI for All is designed to make everyone AI-literate, and it is a very good first step. It is also deliberately general. If you want to use AI properly in your job, build real workflows, lead AI in a team or earn a qualification employers recognise, the next step is applied, instructor-led training. That is what our AI courses and workshops are for.
Not sure where you stand yet? Try our free Intro to AI session first. Then pick the route that fits you:

- AI for Personal Productivity: a live online course (MQF Level 5) on using AI assistants to write, research, plan and automate everyday work. A natural fit if you have just claimed a ChatGPT or Copilot subscription and want real value from it.
- AI Agents & Workflow Automation with n8n: a live online workshop where you build automations and AI agents.
- Build & Launch Websites with AI: a live online workshop for launching a site with AI tools.

AI for All or an ICE Campus course?
It is not either/or. AI for All is a free national introduction to what AI is, where it falls short and how to use it safely. Our courses go further: live teaching, hands-on projects with feedback, accredited qualifications and support for individuals and teams. Many people start with AI for All and then add structured training once they know what they want to achieve.
